Juvederm VOLBELLA XC Lip Filler (Archive)

Juvederm VOLBELLA XC is a longlasting volumising injecatbale hyaluronic acid dermal filler from Allergan. VOLBELLA is specially created for the lips. It is used for lip augmentation and correction of perioral lines (“lipstick lines”).

WHAT IS JUVEDERM VOLBELLA XC?

Juvederm VOLBELLA XC, or VOLBELLA for short, is a cross-linked hyaluronic acid dermal filler from the Juvederm Vycross range. It is produced by Allergan Ltd who are the makers of BOTOX injections and Juvederm fillers. Juvederm Volbella is best described as a hyaluronic-acid-based injectable that plumps lips and smooths lines around the mouth for up to a year. It is best used to naturally plump and define the lips without fear of over filling. The end result is a soft shape and feel to your lips and smoothing of the lines or wrinkles around the mouth.

What is the difference between Voluma and Juvederm Ultra 4, Volift, Vobella and Volux?

Allergan makes two distinct ranges of Juvederm hyaluronic acid filler. These are Juvederm Ultra and Vycross fillers. Juvederm Ultra is made by cross-linking (joining) hyaluronic acid molecules of the same size to make an injectable gel which is then used as a hyaluronic acid dermal filler. On the other hand, The Juvederm Vycross range is Allergan’s second-generation range of fillers. These fillers use a specific crosslinking technology to join hyaluronic acid molecules of different sizes together to produce an injectable gel which imparts a number of key differences. Firstly, the Vycross range of fillers last longer than the Ultra range. Whilst Juvederm ultra remains an excellent fundamental range of multi-purpose fillers, the Vycross range can be injected deeper for a greater lift (Volift), or to give more volume (Voluma) or in the case of VOLBELLA for a smoother application when compared with Juvederm Ultra. Developed more recently, Juvederm VOLUX, which has specifically designed for the chin and jawline, lasts up to 24 months and provides greater structural support. The key thing to remember is that they all have their place in aesthetics and which filler to opt for will depend on your treatment needs, end-goals and budget.

What is Juvederm VOLBELLA most commonly used for?

VOLBELLA contains hyaluronic acid which is naturally found in our bodies and is responsible for plumping, hydrating and firming our skin. At City Skin Clinic, we use Juvederm VOLBELLA dermal filler for the following treatments:
As a lip filler to plump up, augment, redefine and shape the lips in our bespoke lip enhancement and augmentation treatments
Smoothing wrinkles, lines and fold around the mouth to define and shape the lips as well as treat “lip stick lines” or “smoker’s lines”

Are there any Juvederm VOLBELLA side effects?

Whilst Juvederm VOLBELLA fillers are widely available, it is extremely important to opt for treatment by a medical professional such as an experienced aesthetic doctor. This is because any type of dermal filler is a foreign implant being placed in the face regardless of whether it is temporary like VOLBELLA or other hyaluronic acid fillers. Hence, it is important to use a reputable brand of hyaluronic acid lip filler like Juvederm or Teosyal. Secondly, the VOLBELLA lip filler should be injected by someone who is knowledgeable about the anatomy and physiology of the face. This is crucial since incorrect placement of the filler can cause sores, lumps, infections, scarring or in the worst case scenarios get into blood vessels to cause blindness. Even in the best hands, there are potential side effects of Juvederm VOLBELLA fillers. This includes bruising, swelling, redness, asymmetry or allergy. These side effects can be minimised or managed properly by an experienced medical doctor.

How long does VOLBELLA lip filler treatment last?

In general, Juvederm VOLBELLA can last up to 12 months when injected into the lips or lines and wrinkles around the mouth. The amount of time it lasts ultimately depends on your own metabolism (basically how quickly your body breaks up the filler). Since VOLBELLA is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler, the effects of treatment are temporary and they can be dissolved even more quickly using hyaluronidase (aka hyalase) enzyme if there are any complications or you’re unhappy with the outcome.

What is the cost of Juvederm VOLBELLA lip treatment London?

The cost of lip enhancement with VOLBELLA depends on your initial lip shape and size, whether you have lines or wrinkles around the mouth, the amount of filler required and the expertise of the person performing it. At City Skin Clinic, the fee for treatment with the Juvederm VOLBELLA starts from £450.
