Juvederm VOLUMA XC Facial Filler

Juvederm VOLUMA XC is a longlasting volumising hyaluronic acid dermal filler from Allergan. VOLUMA is widely used in cheek enhancement, nose to mouth line filling, jawline and chin contouring, lip augmentation as well as nose reshaping to deliver excellent results where additional volume and support are needed.

WHAT IS JUVEDERM VOLUMA XC?

Juvederm VOLUMA XC, or VOLUMA for short is a cross-linked hyaluronic acid dermal filler from the Juvederm Vycross range which is produced by Allergan Ltd (the makers of BOTOX injections). They are probably one of the most famous and most commonly used types of dermal filler in the UK. Juvederm fillers are used for a variety of facial filler treatments and come in a variety of formulations which can be used to contour the face, replace lost volume, enhance the cheeks and smooth wrinkles.

What is the difference between Voluma and Juvederm Ultra 4, Volift, Vobella and Volux?

There are two ranges of Juvederm fillers made by Allergan. These are Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Vycross. Juvederm Ultra is Allergan’s first generation hyaluronic acid dermal filler. These fillers are made by cross-linking (joining) hyaluronic acid molecules of the same size to make an injectable gel which is used as a dermal filler. The Juvederm Vycross range is Allergan’s second generation filler. ‘Vycross’ refers to the unique composition of the filler which uses specific crosslinking technology to join hyaluronic acid molecules of different sizes. Whilst this also produces an injectable gel, there are some difference that his manufacturing process imparts. The Vycross range of fillers last longer than the Ultra range. Depending on the filler, the Vycross range can be injected deeper for a greater lift (Volift), more volume (Voluma) or for a smoother application (Volbella) compared with Juvederm Ultra. Juvederm VOLUX, which has specifically designed for the chin and jawline, is the latest addition to the advanced range of fillers and lasts upto 24 months as well as providing greater structural support. They all have their place in use in aesthetics and which filler to opt for will depend on your treatment needs and budget.

What is Juvederm Voluma most commonly used for?

VOLUMA contains hyaluronic acid which is naturally found in our skin and is responsible for plumping, hydrating and firming. At City Skin Clinic, we use Juvederm VOLUMA dermal filler for the following treatments:
– Smoothing deep wrinkles, lines and fold such as nose to mouth lines or jowls
Chin augmentation and jawline contouring
Non surgical nose reshaping
– Restoring midface volume and structure through cheek enhancement with dermal fillers
– In combination with Botox anti wrinkle injections to lift, redefine and rejuvenate the face through our liquid facelift

Are there any Juvederm Voluma side effects?

Whilst Juvederm fillers are widely available, it is extremely important to opt for treatment in a clinical setting by a medical professional such as an experienced aesthetic doctor. This is because any type of dermal filler is a foreign implant being placed in the face. As such, it is important that a reputable brand of hyaluronic acid filler like Juvederm or Teosyal is used. Secondly, the filler should be injected by someone who is knowledgeable about the anatomy of the face. Placement of the filler in the incorrect location can cause wounds, lumps, infections, scarring or in the worst case scenarios get into blood vessels and cause blindness.
Even in the best hands, there are potential side effects of Juvederm fillers such as bruising, swelling, redness, asymmetry or allergy. These side effects can be minimised or managed effectively if they occur by an experienced doctor.

How long does Voluma treatment last?

In general, Juvederm VOLUMA can last up to 18 months. In mobile areas of the face like the nose to mouth lines or lips, the fillers last for a shorter time. The amount of time also depends on your own metabolism ie how quickly your body breaks up the filler. Since VOLUMA is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler, the effects of treatment are temporary and they can be dissolved using hyaluronidase enzyme if there are any complications or you’re unhappy with the outcome.

What is the cost of Juvederm Voluma treatment London?

The cost of treatment depends on the type of treatment needed, the amount of filler required and the expertise of the person performing it. At City Skin Clinic, the fee for treatment with the Juvederm VOLUMA tends to start from £450.
